Overview

Getting accredited involves two parts:

Part 1: Application Process – submit documents, complete training, and pass the exam
Part 2: Registration Process – register and pay for your accreditation.

Part 1: Application Process

Documents you need before you start

To avoid delays – ensure documents are current, legible and ready for upload in PDF, JPG, PNG, or DOCX.

  • Statement of Attainment (from an RTO, completed in the past 2 years)
The SOA needs to show that the required units of competency have been obtained.
  • Photo ID – driver’s licence or passport
  • A clear selfie – must match your ID
  • Insurance Certificate of Currency
    • Install accreditation: Public Liability Insurance
    • Design-only accreditation: Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Electrical licence – showing licence number and expiry date
  • “Working Safely at Heights” Certificate

Application Fee

  • Application Fee is paid when you submit your documents.

The Application Fee is non-refundable.

Application reviewal process

If your documents are in order (allow 3 business days) – you will receive an email to set your CPD Hub password.

Password must be set up within 72 hours – the link will expire.

Complete mandatory modules and the Exam in CPD Hub

Set up your password and log into the CPD Hub. You will need to complete:

  • Any required mandatory training (allow up to 2 hrs)
  • Review and agree to the Code of Conduct and sign the Accreditation
    Agreement (allow up to 2 hours)
  • Sit the Accreditation Exam (allow up to 2 hours)

Please complete the required training and review all necessary documents before accessing the exam. Information will be revealed step by step, so proceed through each part in order. The exam will become available at the final step.

About the Exam

  • 30 multiple-choice questions based on current standards and a Pass mark of 80%
  • 2-hour time limit (must be completed in one sitting)
  • You get 3 attempts. If you don’t pass after 3 tries, you’ll need to purchase more attempts in the CPD Hub Store. Each attempt is $120.00 (excluding GST).
  • Questions are based on Australian Standards:

Accreditation Exam GCBS covers: AS/NZS 3000:2018 and AS/NZS 5139:2019.

Accreditation Exam GCPV covers: AS/NZS 1170.2:2020, AS/NZS 3000:2018 AS/NZS 5033:2021, AS/NZS 4777.1:2024.

Accreditation Exam SPS covers: AS/NZS 1170.2:2020, AS/NZS 3000:2018AS/NZS 5033:2021, AS/NZS 4509.2:2010, AS/NZS 5139:2019

Part 2: Registering Your Accreditation

  • After passing the exam, you will receive an email (allow 1 business day) with steps to register your FULL ACCREDITATION and pay
  • Once registered, we will send you a confirmation email and your Accreditation Number (allow 1 business day)

You can’t sign off on STC claims until you receive confirmation of your full accreditation.

How Long does it take to become accredited?

30 minutes: Fill in your Details and Upload your Document & pay application fee
3 business days: SAA reviews documents & enrols you in your exam and learning – which will be completed in the CPD Hub
3 minutes: Set CPD Hub password
6 hours: complete mandatory training and Exam
15 minutes: register accreditation
1 business day: receive accreditation
