- There is no fee to transfer your accreditation to Solar Accreditation Australia.
- Solar Accreditation Australia will honour CEC accreditation expiry dates and fees paid. An accreditation renewal fee will be due on expiry of your existing CEC accreditation.
- If your accreditation expired on or after 29 February, you must accredit yourself with Solar Accreditation Australia to remain eligible for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). This will attract a fee.
- There are no immediate proposed changes to accreditation requirements, including relevant training units. Solar Accreditation Australia will recognise continuous professional development completed under the CEC’s accreditation scheme.
- To complete this transfer and maintain your accreditation, you will need to apply and provide the following information:
- name, address and contact details
- business details including ABN/ACN (as applicable)
- proof of identification (for example, driver’s licence)
- current electrical licence number (if you hold grid-connect install accreditation)
- current Clean Energy Council (CEC) accreditation number and expiry date
- current picture of yourself (a selfie is acceptable)
- any information on outstanding compliance or rectification works.
- Once submitted, Solar Accreditation Australia will assess the information and issue a new accreditation number to use when claiming STCs.
- Applications to transfer are expected to be completed in 5–10 business days. Solar Accreditation Australia will prioritise accreditations that expire during the transition.
- Before transferring to Solar Accreditation Australia, you should:
- confirm your CEC accreditation expiry date
- abide by the CEC’s application cut-off dates appropriate to your accreditation situation
- promptly respond to any requests for further information
- address any outstanding compliance actions or rectification work
- The CEC ceased their accreditation services when the CER’s decision was announced on 29 February
- We continue to work closely with the CEC and the CER to achieve a smooth transfer and support installers and designers.
